We are looking to check if it is possible to make an amendment to the function of the ‘Hidden Transport’ feature in the ‘Transport Types Active’ page of the Admin tab in SAM. The idea for this CANNY is to find out that when a flight is checked as hidden, this only hides the flight in Workflow and does not affect what can be viewed in SAM. This will ensure only the Workflow Requestors are unable to view the hidden flights.

The ‘hidden transport’ function hides the flights from view in SAM and when managing a flight for overbooking, a task where we optimise the number of passengers on our pre-paid ‘block’ seats on aircraft. At present we are needing to continuously unhide transports when moving passengers and then immediately hide the flight again once the moves have occurred. This occurs continuously through the week.

There are certain flights that are required to be hidden at all times for the Workflow Requestors, however NPI People Logistics (the Workflow Approver) are still required to move passengers to these specific flights in SAM manually, however when the flight is hidden in SAM, the flight does not appear until it’s unhidden.
